Q5: If there is one thing that you want to add to this interactive artwork, what would it be

Question 5:

If there is one thing that you want to add to this interactive artwork, what would it be?

If there is one thing that can be added to this interactive artwork, I would like to add more effects on the screen. The effects can be differentiate by the speed of the touch movement and the force of the touch. Each of these factors gives a different meaning like a fast movement creates a happy mood that will shine or glow a bright colors effects that follows the movements of the hand. A slow and low forces of touch creates the gloomy color effects to the surface of the sphere. From these the users can participate more in expressing their feeling through an interactive artwork. The creativity of a person only limited by their own selves. By using more effects on the artwork, more unique and different effects can be made.

Q4: What is the wow factor for you

Question 4:

What is the 'wow' factor for you? (4%)

The WOW factor for me is the way they make effects look so realistic - the scattered lights move according to our touch movements. If I were given the opportunity to experience it myself, I would create many different kinds of movements to see the effects of my movements towards the scattered lights. Every movement creates its own expressions and excitements. The touch effects also did grab my attention. When a user touch the sphere it will create a light effect like there are a glowing force on the hands that helps in moving the scattered lights on the sphere. The lights' color also played an important role in my WOW factor. Every touch will create different mood by using different colors.

Q3: What element/s made this interactive art successful in engaging you

Question 3:

What element/s made this interactive art successful in engaging you? (4%)

This interactive art uses the combination of touch and light as the main element. Both of the elements works simultaneously to create a great effect. The touch element creates the movement of the lights displayed on the sphere. It most likely uses the concept as generating super powers to move things around and uses the concept of magnet and iron powder for the movements of lights. The light will be generate and it will follows the movements that the user made. The color of lights also contributed a lot in attracting the my attention by using the sight senses.  Like we can see at the first 3 seconds of the video, when the user moves his hand, it creates the movement like he is pushing the little lights away and the lights move in a way like there are floating in the sphere. It allow the user to move around and free to express our feeling on the sphere to create the effects from all around the sphere. The uses of the 'multi-touch' concept from the touch elements creates a bigger excitement where more than one movement can be done at the same time. By combining certain movements is will creates another unique effects that will blew our mind.

The magnet and iron powder concept which the hands act as the magnet while the scattered  lights as the iron powder that attracts and repels to the magnets.

Q2: How did you feel when you first saw this interactive art

Question 2:

How did you feel when you first saw this interactive art? (4%)

Personally, when I saw this interactive art I was amazed by the concept they used for this art - using sphere as an interactive touch screen. The color and the movement of the elements on the sphere creates the eager to be a part of the artwork or to interact with the sphere. Furthermore, the excitement feeling appears when we can interact ourselves rather than just looking at someone's artwork. The user experience counts here where we can experience ourselves to touch and see the effects that comes out. It feels like having a superpower that generates the lights and interacts with other elements on the sphere. The lights and the colors used are really eye catching and attractive and it can be used or seen 360 degrees all around the sphere. It uses dark surrounding to creates the mystery mood for the user to fully experience what is going to happen on the sphere.

Q1: What attracted you to this piece of interactive art in the first place

Question 1:

What attracted you to this piece of interactive art in the first place? (4%)

What attracted me the most is the uses of the sphere as the screen to place or used as a medium to perform the interactive art. It is really rare to see a spherical screen been used especially in the interactive ways that are also called the touch screen concept. When I saw this video, it reminds me of a fantasy-like concept. It uses the 'gypsy's crystal ball' that are mostly used in the fiction stories that act as a fortune-teller devise used by the gypsy or a witch. As I can say from the video itself, for the users to interact with the sphere is not complicated  in another word everyone can easily experience the interaction of the sphere - using human touch senses - by touching the surface of the sphere and the sphere will immediately detect it a start to produce the effect. It will not create the frustrating mood due to it simplicity on using experiencing the art. Besides that, I am attracted to these artwork is just because the idea and work collaboration in making this Interactive Multi-touch Sphere itself - seeper and PufferFish. Seeper are one of the most famous and talented group or company that creates great major art while PufferFish are the expert in making spherical project that have 360 degree of display screen. The combination of these two groups creates this fascinating Interactive Multi-touch Spherical.
